BudeStrings is run by Jan Deis-Horton. With over 20 years experience in the music scene working with local bands, schools, and in recording environments.

I am a qualified, CRB checked and certified instrumental tutor based in Camelford, Cornwall. Through my career I have played over 300 concerts and studied a two of the best music universities in the country. My experience at Bath Spa University and the Brighton Institute for Modern Music helped shape my music career towards private instrumental teaching. I have experience teaching on both a one to one basis, within the classroom and with groups of students. As well as this I have a Foundation Degree in Popular Music and I am on the final Year of my Bachelors Degree in Professional Musicianship.

On top of this I am still working within the industry as a session musician and within my current band ‘A New City’.

I can teach a wide range of bass plays from absolute beginners who want to start out to the experienced musician who just wants to brush up on his technique or learn something new.
I will be teaching guitar players who are wanting to start out or want to brush up on techniques.
I am also teaching Band skills which will help your band to progress to sound great and work well as a unit.

A unique service which I offer my students that don’t have a band is the opportunity to jam with a group of professional musicians or other learning musicians to help improve your ability to play with a band.

I also offering theory lessons for any students who want to progress further into the depths of musical theory.
